My inspiration for the colour palette for the brand came from looking through the work Jessie Leong has produced. Many of the images she takes feature deep, rich and dark colours, this is reflective of the grandeur and orientalism within her work. I looked at using some lighter tones to keep the brand light and airy however I then experimented combining a rich deep colour with a lighter tone, this palette much more balanced and created a greater contrast. This also makes the brand more versatile it terms of it's application to different formats and uses and as light and dark tone allows for the brand to be flexible if a dark tone doesn't work a lighter tone can still be used.
